Mark 15 — Crucifixion at Golgotha

Mark 15

Solemn distant wide shot from a rocky outcrop at midday, the sky darkening unnaturally to a bruised grey-brown. Camera is far back and slightly elevated, holding three crosses silhouetted on the hill against the murky sky, tiny figures gathered at the base. A slow, almost imperceptible push-in begins, wind bending dry grass in the foreground. The light dims further, shadows lengthening across the ground, birds scattering from the rocks. Camera continues its quiet approach until the central cross fills the middle third of frame, then holds absolutely still as the darkness deepens and the landscape goes silent and still.
