The Plague of Darkness

Exodus

Cinematic 16:9 shot of Egypt enveloped in thick, palpable darkness. Camera is at eye level, slowly moving through a street where people grope blindly, unable to see. The only light comes from a distant Hebrew home, where a lamp burns brightly. The camera moves toward the light, revealing the stark contrast. The shot ends with an Egyptian man reaching out toward the light but unable to move forward, as the darkness presses in.
