Mark 6 — Walking on the Water

Mark 6

Night wide shot from the deck of a fishing boat, camera at standing eye level looking out over choppy dark water. A strong wind whips the sail and the men's hair; the boat rocks rhythmically. Far off, a lone figure walks steadily across the waves, robe hem trailing just above the surface, faint moonlight rimming his silhouette. Camera slowly pushes in past the shoulders of two stunned fishermen gripping the mast, racking focus from their wet hands to the distant walker. One man steps over the gunwale, plants a foot on the water, and immediately sinks to his chest — camera tilts down with him as a hand reaches into frame and grips his forearm, hauling him up. The shot ends on the two of them standing on the water, boat drifting behind.
