The Crucifixion at Golgotha

Cinematic 16:9 shot on the hill of Golgotha under a darkening sky at midday. Three wooden crosses stand against churning black clouds; Jesus hangs on the central cross between two condemned men. Camera begins as a distant wide shot from the base of the hill, then rises slowly on a crane to a medium shot at the level of the crosses, wind whipping dust and cloth. The light is unnatural, a sickly green-gray darkness falling over the land. Composition is stark and symmetrical, the central cross dominant. Mary and John stand small at the foot of the cross. Ends on Jesus' head bowing as the sky deepens to black.
