Mark 5 — Jairus's Daughter Rises

Mark 5

Intimate interior shot in a small stone house at night, one olive-oil lamp on a low table casting warm flickering light on plaster walls. Camera starts high, looking down at a young girl lying still on a woven mat under a wool blanket, then descends slowly on a crane move to eye level as a robed figure kneels beside her and takes her hand. Weeping relatives crowd the doorway in the background, out of focus. The girl's chest rises; her eyes open; she sits up and the blanket falls away. Camera pushes in gently to a close two-shot of her hand in his, then holds as she swings her legs off the mat. 16:9, warm amber key light, deep shadows, shallow focus.
