The Cleansing of the Temple

Cinematic 16:9 shot inside the Temple courts in Jerusalem at midday. Jesus overturns a money-changer's table; coins scatter across the stone floor as doves flutter from overturned cages. Camera is a fast, handheld, whip-pan shot that swings through the chaos, then steadies into a medium shot of Jesus with a cord of ropes in his hand. Harsh shafts of sunlight cut through the colonnade; dust and feathers fill the air. Composition is dynamic and diagonal, merchants recoiling on both sides. Jesus' face is fierce and resolute. Ends on the last coin spinning to a stop on the flagstones.
