Mark 2 — Through the Roof

Mark 2

Interior medium shot inside a crowded first-century Galilean house: low mud-brick walls, oil lamps flickering, a dense press of seated figures in earth-toned robes. Camera is positioned at seated eye level near the back wall, slowly tracking sideways through the crowd, weaving past shoulders and heads. Above, a square opening in the ceiling grows brighter as four men lower a paralyzed man on woven ropes through the gap; dust and straw sift down into the lamplight. The lowered mat swings gently, ropes creaking, and the crowd leans back to make room. Camera tilts upward to follow the descending mat, then settles on the man's face as he touches down on the packed-earth floor, lamp flames guttering in the disturbed air.
