Mark 4 — Calming the Storm

Mark 4

Violent handheld medium-wide shot aboard a small wooden fishing boat on the Sea of Galilee at night. Camera is low near the gunwale, salt spray streaking the lens, the deck pitching hard. Rain slashes diagonally through the beam of a single swinging lantern; terrified fishermen in soaked tunics cling to ropes and oars, one bailing water frantically. At the stern, a man in a drenched cloak sleeps on a cushion, unbothered. Camera lurches toward him as a wave crashes over the bow, then whips to the sky where black clouds churn. He stands, raises a hand, and the shot holds as the rain abruptly thins, the sea flattens into long glassy swells, and the lantern light steadies — the camera finally settling into a slow, calm drift.
