Mark 12 — The Widow's Two Mites

Mark 12

Quiet observational shot in the temple treasury court, a row of trumpet-shaped bronze collection chests against a carved stone wall. Camera is positioned behind and slightly above a small, hunched woman in a faded headscarf as she steps up to a chest; we see over her shoulder as two tiny copper coins drop from her fingers and ring against the metal. Camera then cranes slowly upward and back to reveal wealthy men in fine robes behind her dropping handfuls of coins with a loud clatter, and a robed figure seated opposite, watching her, not them. Final beat: camera holds on his face in medium close-up as he turns to speak to a disciple beside him. 16:9, soft diffused light, shallow focus on the coins, deep focus on the watcher.
