The Agony in Gethsemane

Cinematic 16:9 shot in the olive grove of Gethsemane at night. Jesus kneels on the rocky ground among ancient gnarled trees, his face pressed to his hands in anguished prayer. Camera is a slow, low-angle push-in through the dark trunks, branches framing the shot in silhouette. Cold blue moonlight filters through the leaves; a single warm pool of light falls on Jesus as if from above. Sweat beads on his brow. In the background, three disciples lie asleep, barely visible. Composition isolates Jesus in the center-left with deep shadow around him. Ends on him lifting his head, resolved, as distant torchlight approaches.
