Mark 12 — The Widow's Mite

Mark 12

Quiet medium close-up inside the Temple courts: a long row of polished trumpet-shaped collection chests, columns casting hard shadows, pilgrims in muted robes passing behind. Camera is at waist height, slowly pushing in on an elderly woman in a faded grey shawl who steps forward alone, shoulders bent. She opens her palm to reveal two tiny copper coins, hesitates, then drops them in; the faint clink is implied by her flinch. Camera arcs gently to the side to reveal a teacher seated nearby, watching her intently, ignoring the wealthy men in embroidered robes who clatter in larger gifts behind. Late afternoon light slants across the stone floor; the shot ends on her empty open hand and her quiet, steady expression.
