Mark 14 — Gethsemane Prayer

Mark 14

Still, somber wide shot in an olive grove at night: gnarled ancient trees, silver leaves catching cold moonlight, long shadows across the rocky ground. Camera is low and distant, slowly creeping forward between two trunks toward a solitary figure kneeling on a flat stone, face pressed to the earth, hands clenched. Three companions lie asleep in the background, huddled under cloaks. Mist drifts low; an owl's silhouette shifts on a branch. Camera continues its slow, almost imperceptible push as the kneeling man rocks with anguish, then lifts his head toward the sky, sweat on his brow, and the shot holds on his upturned face framed by dark branches.
