The Baptism in the Jordan

Cinematic 16:9 shot at the muddy Jordan River at midday. Jesus, a bearded man in a plain linen garment, stands waist-deep in the water; John the Baptist, clad in camel hair with a leather belt, grips his shoulder and lowers him backward. Camera is a low water-level shot just above the river surface, slowly pushing in as droplets arc through the air. Bright sunlight glints off the rippling water; reeds frame the edges of the composition. As Jesus rises from the water, a shaft of light breaks through parting clouds above him. Composition centers the two men with the sky opening in the upper third. Ends on Jesus' face lifted upward, water streaming from his hair.
