Hope Does Not Put Us to Shame

A rocky cliff overlooking a vast valley at dawn: a woman in a flowing first-century dress stands at the edge, holding a small clay oil lamp whose flame burns steadily despite the daylight. The camera starts as a low-angle medium shot, making her figure heroic against the brightening sky, then slowly circles around her to reveal the valley below. She looks down at the lamp and smiles gently. The camera pushes in to an extreme close-up of the flame, which flickers in the wind but does not go out. The camera ends holding on the flame as the first sunbeam strikes it. Cinematic, symbolic, 16:9.
