Mark 1 — Baptism in the Jordan

Mark 1

Cinematic wide shot at golden hour: the Jordan River winds through dry Judean wilderness, reeds bending in a warm breeze. A bearded man in rough camel-hair clothing stands waist-deep in the slow current, one hand raised, water beading on his forearm. A younger man in a plain linen tunic wades toward him, sandals sinking into the muddy riverbed, small silt clouds swirling around his ankles. Camera begins low at water level, then rises on a slow crane as the two figures meet midstream, keeping them centered in the lower third with the vast pale sky above. Sunlight flares off the rippling surface; distant hills shimmer with heat haze. The moment the younger man is submerged and lifted back up, droplets hang in the air, and the camera settles into a steady wide hold as light breaks across the water.
